Fire destroys new home of Herbert Wards

A fire early today at 10:18 a.m. destroyed the interior of a recently completed frame house at 311 North Lamar Street. The Wards had moved in yesterday, and firefighters stated the origin was undetermined. The stucco exterior was unfinished, and contents were burned.

In Bellefonte Pennsylvania police and CCC youths hunted a tan sedan linked to a maniac killer who fatally bludgeoned Fay Gates 25 near Bellefonte and, five weeks earlier, Rachel Taylor 17 at a Pennsylvania State College area.
