Miss Opal Ammons to Marry Clyde Mays May 11
Amarillo report says Miss Opal Ammons daughter of Mr and Mrs H C Ammons of 1003 Jackson Street will wed Clyde Mays of Amarillo on May 11. The betrothal was announced Saturday afternoon during a gathering hosted by Mrs Frank J Warren and Miss Edna Erle Northern at Miss Northern’s home at 2009 Van Buren Street.

Man Convicted With Forbes In Vet Bureau Probe Dies
John W. Thompson, about sixty, wealthy contractor, died in St Louis after being convicted with Col Charles B Forbes in a conspiracy to defraud the government through the Veterans Bureau. Thompson had appealed his sentence to no avail and was deemed unfit to begin serving at Leavenworth. Forbes remains imprisoned.

McDaniel Sets Sprint Record for Jury Service in Amarillo
G C McDaniel reportedly ran a road to the courthouse, sprinting five blocks through downtown Amarillo traffic to report for jury duty at 9 oclock. He arrived a minute early, clocking a remarkable dash amid new buildings and alleys as onlookers watched the speedy effort.
