Dr Irvine Rehman of the University of California says a radioactive cloud from the Bikini atom bomb test is circling the globe and threatening aircraft. He notes planes along a northern U S strip have been warned to stay below 17 000 feet to avoid it as the cloud makes its sixth orbit.
Anna M. Jarvis founder of Mother's Day marked her 83rd birthday quietly in Westchester Pennsylvania. She is blind deaf and bedridden and has spent four years at the Marshall Square Sanitarium.
Governor Beaufort H. Jester announced that an amendment to the Texas constitution will be required to fund a public school system. He said a regular session is needed to submit such an amendment, and a special session cannot remedy the issue.
