Dr. Simon Flexner an 83 year old pathologist and director emeritus of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research died at Presbyterian Hospital in New York after a a few weeks illness. He was born in Louisville Kentucky and joined the Rockefeller Institute in 1901 serving as its active director until his 1935 retirement. He had been honored by many foreign governments for his medical achievements.
