OPS price ceilings set by schedules impact Panhandle traders
Margin from meat sales in 1950 fell below 17 percent regardless of annual gross. Schedule 3 has the lowest ceilings and Schedule 1 the highest, Allmand said. Veal pork lamb and mutton remain unregulated under current OPS rules affecting about 300,000 retailers and 25,000 packers slaughterers and wholesalers. OPS officials will arrange a definite commitment and then a free discussion session. Amarillo Chamber of Commerce has previously blocked similar moves for Panhandle and Tri State businessmen.
