Writer of Probable Official Song Is Sister of Local Woman
Lula Sutton Williams of Fort Worth wrote the Texas official song “Texas, the Lone Star State” selected by the legislature as one of five contenders. Kennedy Orr and Roberta Dedmon sang it in Austin before lawmakers, and President Bizzell invited them to perform for cadets at Texas A&M. Miss Crete Allen will broadcast the tune on WDAG, Amarillo. Endorsements to Mrs. Williams at 1118 Bessie Street Fort Worth may influence the final choice.
