A poll of about two thousand delegates and alternates to the 1928 Democratic National convention shows Franklin D. Roosevelt as the overwhelming favorite for the 1932 presidential nomination. Roosevelt leads Alfred E. Smith 478 to 125 among 844 voting respondents. New York State was not included in the survey.
Amarillo handles forty five merchandise and package cars daily excluding solid carload shipments. Overnight freight serves points within two hundred miles. Twenty three passenger trains arrive and depart daily. Rail express operates on twenty two trains daily with one hundred eighty five express cars monthly using five trucks. Knight a brakeman sues Port Worth & Deliver Railway Company for 75000 dollars in district court alleging permanent injuries from an air hose that failed on a freight train on April 1 1930 causing the train to stop abruptly. Knight claims injuries prevent him from any manual labor or gainful work. The report notes the case filed Monday morning in the 10th district court.

They were moved to county custody after patrols found one tire removed and another car jacked up ready for a theft. Police warning follows rising gasoline siphon and accessory thefts and reports of gun battles with thieves near The Nat.
