Tonight fair and cold with a slow warmup Friday. Temperatures range from 31 to 42 degrees with frost possible in parts. Northwest states see colder readings and rising temps by Friday while Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas forecast fair conditions with frost risk in the north and east portions.
From Irapuato and Guanajuato reports the clash at San Isidro ranch near San Francisco del Rincon left 92 insurgents dead, two priests killed, Chieftain Anaya among the fallen, plus 4 soldiers and 2 officers slain. 47 insurgents captured, 180 horses and 67 rifles seized as federal troops broke the siege after a 29 hour fight.
The house coinage committee approved a bill to mint a Thomas A Edison medal. An appropriation of 1000 dollars would fund the Treasury secretary in preparing a suitable medal.
Galveston Texas March 29 One hundred ninety six indictments returned by the Fifty-Sixth district court grand jury will be ready for service tomorrow. Most indictments are against gamblers. Griggs ambulance. Phone 4311.
Managers of two baseball clubs tangled at Texan park over playing in cold wind. Initial plan to stage the game was dropped just before it began, leaving Broncs with a two to one series lead under Sled Allen.

Endowment of a half million dollars is guaranteed by the Northwest Texas conference, with 700 acres donated and construction to begin after fund-raising reaches the $200,000 goal. Citizens praise colleges in Dallas and other cities, expressing optimism Amarillo will soon host a major educational institution.
The House Flood Control Committee reported the Reid bill for 473 million dollars to fund a large Mississippi valley flood protection project with full federal payment. The panel also backed a 525 million dollar Jones bill and the creation of a Mississippi River Commission to oversee the work, both funded by the federal treasury.
Three Kelly Field planes piloted by Captain A. B. McDaniel and Lieutenants B. S. Thompson and D. R. Dunton departed San Antonio for Point Isabel to meet Assistant Secretary of War F. Trubee Davidson and Major General James E. Fechet returning from Panama. They may return to San Antonio or continue toward Washington via Galveston.

Funeral services for Hugh Lee Butler Amarillo high school coach who died unexpectedly will be at Piret Baptist church at 3 tomorrow afternoon. The body lies in state at N S Griggs and Sons until 11 tomorrow morning then to the high school gym under guard until 2 30 with flag draped casket. The high school band will join the cortege to First Baptist church and burial is at Llano cemetery under Masonic lodge. The high school pep squad will be flower girls and pallbearers include George Lindsay John Fullingim T B Gallaher L B Newby W A McIntosh J M Brawley Jr Fred Howe W W Flenniken. Honorary pall bearers are led by the Sandies athletic squad members.
Robbers stole over $1500 in watches and diamonds from the K. L. Smith Jewelry store on East Fifth Street. They sealed a skylight and leaped roofs to reach the Smith Building on Taylor Street before escaping down rear steps. Five pistols and ten diamond rings are missing. rings valued $100 to $200 and gates around $25 each. Police, arriving moments later, found only footprints and the escape route.
Dr. K R Parcells is backed to head the Forty first district as Rotary governor elect. The district meeting at noon approved the slate and scheduled the April district assembly in Lubbock for the election. Condolence resolutions were also adopted for Coach Hugh L Butler.

Four unidentified young men died when railroad ties shifted in a freight car on a Fort Worth and Denver sidetrack near Tascosa. Bodies shipped to Amarillo for viewing. no IDs found except a few personal items. Coroner ruled death accidental.
