A Pullman car was seized in Laredo Texas as a railroad official and his companion a prominent eastern manufacturer were arrested on a charge of transporting liquor. The incident was reported by United Press.
The weather section notes tonight and Thursday will be partly cloudy and colder in most areas. Highs around 73 today, low 44, with hourly readings from 46 at 7 am to 73 at 1 pm. Regions include West Texas Oklahoma East Texas Louisiana and Arkansas with variances in showers and temperatures.

Site donated by Lee Bivins and associates. Northwest Texas Methodist Conference pledges half a million for endowment and senior college status.
Seagraves Texas awakens to the ruin of twenty one business houses after a fire that caused an estimated 250000 in property loss. Citizens mobilize relief and material from Brownfield Lamesa and Lubbock as volunteers fight flames that began in a tailoring shop destroying most of the main street. Only twelve of thirty three businesses survive unscathed including gas stations a garage lumber yards an electric plant a theater and a newspaper plant. The blaze driven by wind was fought by over a hundred volunteers with limited water.
William D. Burger of the Reserve Officers Association asks Fort Sam Houston for Lieut. Harry Weldington to visit Amarillo to advise on locating a municipal airport. Aviation experts from Wichita, Kansas, are due to inspect several potential sites this week.
St Paul aviator tene Shank ended his third bid to set a world endurance flight record when a gas jet plugger forced him to land at 7:25 a m after 12 hours 10 minutes aloft. He had taken off at 7:14 p m the previous night.

Mrs Lemira Goodhue mother of Mrs Calvin Coolidge was in critical but slightly improved condition in Northampton Massachusetts today. She was cheered by visits from her daughter and other relatives as doctors reported gradual recovery from illness.
Grand jury in Rankin, Texas, to hear Ranger Captain Frank Hamer after his signed claim of a murder ring in the state. The Texas Bankers Association had offered a 5000 dollar reward for dead bank robbers. Hamer said he is willing to testify and would sign a lie bill if he cannot prove his charges.
Roads through Ellwood park were closed this morning as city landscape engineer Dave French and his crew graded the ground ready for planting shrubs and trees. A Park Commission meeting was held to decide bids for trees and shrubbery.
In Dublin on March 22 the Bremen team prepared for a perilous attempt to cross the Atlantic. German aviators Arthur Spindler and Baron Ehrenfried von Huenfeld, with Gunther Von Huenfeld and others, planned to depart as soon as weather permitted, insisting their voyage serves humanity.
Hugh Lee Butler, longtime Amarillo high school coach and beloved athletic mentor, died at 9 55 this morning after chicken pox followed by complications. Physicians cited a ruptured heart as the final cause, noting his sudden decline from hiccoughs and coma. Butler was 78 or 80 years old and left a strong imprint on the city and its schools.
News notes the death of Am arillo high school coach Hugh Butler. His parents Mr and Mrs R F Butler of Denton were told of his critical condition. His mother also grew gravely ill, preventing the father from leaving her bedside, with reports saying she is not expected to live.
Bond set at six thousand dollars was posted for J. L. Cheshire after he was indicted for murder in the death of W. B. Dickey, a filling station proprietor shot Saturday night. Dickey, wounded in the cheek and arms, was taken to Northwest Texas hospital. Cheshire surrendered to sheriffs after stating he had been shot while posting a station and that he had shot a man who fired at him. The two men, both operators of similar businesses, were not acquainted. A large iron bar found near the station is believed to be the weapon used.
Amarillo youth benefited from coach Me Butler and his wife Anne Wendt Butler during their year here. Butler, a Baylor alumnus and former Sherman high school coach, led the Amarillo football to a district title and earned community praise with a $1100 appreciation gift before the Abilene bi district game. He and Mrs. Butler were active in the Baptist church and fraternal orders, leaving behind a legacy of character and athletics.
A Rock Island freight train collided with a stock train near Loring Kansas early today killing two stock men identified as Charles A Lass and R E Maxwell. Five others were injured three critically. The wreck caboose burned and many accompanying cars were destroyed.
George Haldeman and Eddie Stinson launched an endurance flight from Jackson Florida at 7 35 a m using a Stinson Destroyer monoplane with 550 gallons of gasoline aiming for 60 hours aloft The existing record is just over 63 hours.
