Amarillo tag day supports wounded servicemen fund
The Federation of Music Clubs plans a Saturday tag day in downtown Amarillo to raise money for music for wounded servicemen. Mayor Joe Jenkins approved the event with headquarters at Southwestern Public Service Co. Three local clubs Harmony MacDowell Mozart join the effort with leaders on the organizing committee.

Thirteen Women Join WAC Hospital Unit
Thirteen women were added to the Army WAC hospital unit with two more needed to round out the first platoon. Recruits Mrs. Mabel Bechtold Beam and Mrs. Peggy Elliston are set to travel April 4 for training at Ft. Oglethorpe Georgia before reporting to Beaumont General Hospital El Paso for duty tending battle casualties.

Special equipment and fine recorded music from Dallas were brought by Temple H Morrow for the Scottish Rite Mystic Maundy Thursday banquet program at 7 30 tonight in Khiva Temple. Macon Carder, president of the Panhandle Scottish Rite Association, called the service likely one of the most impressive in the organization’s history. Arrangements aim to seat a crowd near capacity as Morrow arrived in Amarillo yesterday and will proceed to Perryton and Vernon after tonight’s service.
