A pre frontal squall line from a cold front over eastern Arizona triggered heavy rain across the Panhandle Friday with some counties receiving over an inch. Amarillo reported .84 inch by midnight while winds reached 30 mph and light hail was observed. No damage occurred. The line stretched 80 miles from Hobbs New Mexico northeast across the Kansas border and is expected to bring more moisture this afternoon and tonight as it moves east.
