Canberra dispatch reports Prime Minister John Curtin, addressing the Returned Soldiers League, predicting worsening prospects for Japan in the war. He cited high authority for his view as Allied air offensives intensified along a northern island front near Australia.
War Production Chief Donald M. Nelson told the House Naval Affairs Committee that if labor refuses to drop double pay for war work on Saturdays Sundays and holidays he will seek congressional action within 30 days He opposed extending limits on profits or shortening the 40 hour week and warned such restrictions could hinder production.
Amarillo may see the City of Amarillo bombers fly in the Army Day parade on Monday April 6 at 11 30 AM.
