An Associated Press telephoto shows wrecked houses at Cartersville as a southern tornado sweeps through Louisiana and neighboring states. Seven people were narrowly escaped. storms spread extensive destruction across the region.
Dallas official Owen W. Sherrill said a million dollars of the $7.5 million Texas allotment is available to Panhandle farmers. He blamed improper applications for delays and noted that 75 percent of recent applications have been approved with checks mailed within 24 to 48 hours once forms are correct.
Laura Morrison a 30 year old beauty parlor operator from Aurora is missing and presumed held against her will. A ransom demand of 1000 dollars was sent to her business partner Mrs. C F Wall with instructions to mail the money to Lincoln. Morrison was last seen in Grand Island while awaiting a bus to Aurora and authorities disclose the ransom note after the disappearance was reported.
Secretaries from Dalhart to Amarillo criticized the Reconstruction Finance Corp loan process in a session. Ed Bishop cited only one Dallas County approval amid many rejections for minor technicalities. Owen W Sherrill said state office misunderstandings were fixed and East Texas loans flow, as officers plan to elect new leaders.

Tulsa March 24 Continental Oil Company announced a top price of 1.00 a barrel for Midcontinent crude effective April 1. The Varies by gravity scale starts at 0.76 and rises to 1.00 for 40 gravity. Company expects other Midcontinent firms to follow in boosting gasoline prices.
Col. Raymond Robins returns after 40 years to the Panhandle to urge a fair trial for prohibition. He notes laws against murder theft and prostitution exist yet evil will persist, but America can improve through the liquor traffic ban. Speaking at Polk Street Methodist Church, he cites education and science behind prohibition and the pioneering American spirit.
Texas Attorney General James V. Allred visited Amarillo to speak to a Rotary Club crowd and said he was too busy to discuss whether he would seek re election. He planned to visit his brother Raymond Allred in Pampa while in Texas. He noted a pending court ruling on anti trust laws and described possible lengthy proceedings against big oil companies with potential state recovery of fifteen million dollars. Disclosures on government inefficiency and fee system abuses were also discussed before the Rotary Club.

Zack I Miller head of the historic 101 Ranch in Marland Oklahoma resisted a sale order during an auction of 826 head of livestock including buffalo elk and cattle. Miller broke into a room with two attorneys serving papers before firing a shotgun into the floor in a tense confrontation.

Tulsa March 24 A4 H. L. Phillips president of the Sinclair Oil and Gas Company subsidiary said the merged Sinclair and Prairie firms would meet the 15 cent price increase by Continental Oil Company effective April 1. Barnardall Oil Corporation also said it would follow Continental's schedule.
