Casualty Totals Rise in World War II Report

Secretary of War Stimson announces total American casualties since the war began at 168 292 with Army losses 126 193 and Navy 42 009. Since Italy landings on September 9, casualties reached 39 958. missing cited as 10 275. Increase reflects Cassino battles mainly by British forces.

Philharmonic Orchestra Tickets On Sale Saturday

Philharmonic Association members must pick up reserved seats for the April 4 concert. The ticket board will be open 9 to 5 Saturday at Harry Holland's store Fifth and Polk Street. Non-members may buy single admissions at 1.10 for adults and 55 cents for students. The all orchestra program in the Municipal Auditorium. An Army Service Forces exhibit at the Auditorium drew 15,200 visitors to the Medical Corps tent as officers reported today. Organizers had estimated crowds between 25,000 and 75,000 though no precise count was available.

Fifth War Loan Drives Sets 16 Billion Goal

Funeral services for Rex McRoy a 59 year old Amarillo resident and oil industry figure are set for 2 pm Saturday at Neepkamp's funeral home in Bartlesville Oklahoma. He died at 5 30 am Wednesday at his Bartlesville home after four years there following a Panhandle career with Phillips Petroleum and as Panhandle district superintendent. Interment will be in Atlanta Georgia.

Aerial Battle Over Brunswick As Allied Bombers Press Day

Aerial units reported strong dogfights over Brunswick with Fortresses and Lightnings repelling German twin tailed fighters. Russian forces retook Pervomaisk after heavy urban combat guiding the river crossing at Bug. Hundreds drowned trying to reach the southwest bank as prisoners were taken.
