Hassell Granted Stay in Slaying Case
AUSTIN March 23 George J Haswell of Farwell confessed slayer of thirteen persons and condemned to die March 25 was granted a second thirty day stay of execution by Governor Moody. Hassell's execution is postponed to April 25 unless higher court action reverses the decision. The clemency cited an illegally executed death warrant and grants thirty more days to file an appeal.
