Gamma Kappa Chapter at the YWCA held a meeting led by president Gaytha Lasater. The group voted to adopt a Polish child under the Foster Parents Plan and announced a May 7 benefit bridge party at the Crystal Ballroom Herring Hotel for the San Jacinto Youth Center.

Edwards gave the devotional and several members assisted in the discussion. Attendance included many members and a follow up session is scheduled for next Wednesday at 2 30 PM.

Council Circle Completes Pledge
Two members of the First Christian Church Woman's Council joined a meeting at Mrs. J. B. Coe’s home at 2003 Polk. Mrs. J. G. Voelm chaired the session and reported the council’s pledge for the year paid. Mrs. Will Benton led a lesson on Women of India and India's Youth.
