Wheat futures fell the full 10 cent limit on the Chicago Board of Trade after earlier gains. March wheat dropped 8 1/2 cents from the previous close while May and July contracts fell the limit. September slipped 9 1/2 cents as traders reacted to volatile price swings.
Amarillo building work remains halted for a third day as contractors and union workers report no progress toward a settlement. About 1,800 tradespeople are idled across roughly 350 projects with only small jobs proceeding. The dispute centers on recognizing common laborers as a regular bargaining group, affecting members of the Texas Panhandle Home Builders Association and Associated General Contractors.
A fire last night destroyed about two thirds of the Junior College Agriculture and Home Economics building at Clarendon College. The blaze burned for hours before discovery with the band room and furnace area likely initial hotspots. Firefighters fought the blaze three hours. state inspectors expected to investigate.

John L. Lewis unconditionally withdrew the Nov 15 notice terminating the UMW contract with the government and ended the strike threat. He informed Interior Secretary Krug and 400000 union members that the Krug Lewis agreement remains in full force until final issues are resolved, signaling surrender to the Supreme Court decision.
