Harry Wells Held in Jail in Federal Robbery Case
Harry Wells a 26 year old fugitive from Arkansas was held in Bexar County jail on a federal bank robbery charge for the Citizens State Bank at Luling. His bond was set at 25000. Wells was captured at Gladewater after officers closed in on his hideout. He had wounded three officers near Beeville and Rosary in his flight. He escaped Jan 14 while serving a 15 year sentence for kidnapping and robbery. He reportedly married a South Texas coed at Laredo on March 2 three days before the Luling raid.

The heavy burlap used to cover the giant crane lifting the bouquet for Mrs Roosevelts mother in law party is donated to the preventorium for curtain material. A local Amarillo committee oversees crane decoration as part of the event. Fifty people were injured in riots in Jubbulpore during a Hindu festival.

Amarillo College gains UT pre medical transfer approval
President J F Mead reported Amarillo College is among eleven Texas junior colleges approved for two years of pre medical training by the University of Texas and the AMA Council on Medical Education. The rule allows two years at Amarillo College with identical transfer credit to UT, removing prior transfer handicaps.

Penland Pleads Innocent in Lawton Fatal Crash
