Ed Pritchard, an aviator hobbyist and Exide Battery worker, dropped forty feet Sunday afternoon during a solo takeoff at Blyns field four miles north of the city. Lieutenant Robert N. Gray reported the Jenny 4-D biplane stalled from too high an angle, breaking Pritchard’s leg while the craft was nearly demolished.
Two Negro Shriners were granted an appeal by the Supreme Court from a Texas injunction that barred them from using the name insignia and emblems of the White Shriners restraining their display and activities.

Margaret Singletary aged 78 died at 12 30 today at the home of her son W R Singletary 601 North Fillmore Street. She is being held at Griggs Funeral Parlors awaiting relatives from Colorado and Oklahoma. Burial arrangements will be announced later.
Rebecca Bradley Rogers, 21, a former Texas University student charged with bank robbery, refused to sign a motion for continuance drafted by her lawyers, preferring an immediate trial. No action taken on the motion before court recessed at noon in San Marcos.

Johnson was shot five times in his office at 10 30 am He was taken to Seton infirmary in serious condition Dr C W Goddard health officer was arrested in the hall City Marshal J L Littlepage described the event Johnson a former state board of control member gave a statement and Goddard remained calm in jail The motive and charges were pending evaluation of Johnsons condition
Mrs. George W. Chick of Houston saved $5 000 in diamonds by acting as a robber. After a staged car theft while driving from Beaumont to Houston she feigned aid to the robbers and then sped away, escaping with the jewels.
About 300 Amarillo delegates arrive for the El Paso cattle convention with yellow and black badges and a large banner for the next meeting. Mayor Lee Bivins leads the group while plans focus on federal recognition of the cattle industry and other industry issues.
In Austin on March 14 the senate approved a bill already passed by the house to provide Borger County with an extra $56,000 for the common school district to finish the current school year.
