Plains Speaking on Texas Politics and County Bonds
Senator Clint Small of Amarillo may run for governor if Sterling declines a second term. Sterling’s stance splits family and business circles, with doubts about another campaign. Oldham County eyes two road bond elections amid bond-issue opposition and a push for a special road district. School trustee races loom with multiple tickets and a ban on sweeping teacher pay cuts. Sheriff, tax assessor, and county judge races heat up as public salaries rise and incumbents face challenges.
