Four men were badly burned and two others hurt as blasts and a fire destroyed a H. F. Wilcox Oil & Gas refinery in Pampa. Oil is believed to have dripped to a boiler, ignited, and caused a tank explosion. Tanks holding nearly 40 000 barrels of gasoline and naphtha burned. refinery capacity was 4000 barrels daily.
Mary Nolan, film actress known on stage as Imogene Wilson, and her husband Wallace T. Macrary were sentenced to 30 days in jail on wage claim charges. Each was released under appeal bonds of 200 dollars. The couple were convicted on eight counts of failing to pay wages to employees of a gown shop Miss Nolan operated.
Shanghai dispatch reports a Japanese civilian received a 15 day jail sentence for beating Miss Rose Marlowe, an American missionary teacher. The Japanese consulate notified the U S consulate of the penalty and said they had warned nationals not to repeat the incident.

Markey from Jackson Michigan wrote notable screenplays including As You Desire Me for Greta Garbo.
Confirming information provided to News-Globe by Congressman Marvin Jones, W. H. Fendley said Uncle Sam will accept a second lien on crop loans for fall plantings. Dallas federal supervisor O. W. Sherrill advised the government will not require first liens if other loan conditions are met. Fendley, with County Agent P. C. Bennett, informs county committees of this ruling.
Texarkana Ark March 12 UP Two poorly dressed unmasked gunmen robbed the First State Bank of Hatfield 13 miles south of Mena and forced cashier James B Rodgers to open the vault. They fled in Rodgers car after leaving $608 in silver. Bloodhounds were sent from Hot Springs to track the overland trail.
