Amarillo High Bel Canto in Highlander Music Festival
The Amarillo High School Bel Canto Chorale travels by bus to Highland Park High School near Dallas for the Highlander Music Festival. A. M. Autrey directs with two AHS teachers, C. P. Atwood and Lela Crossett, as twenty singers join the massed choir. Repertoire includes The Easter Story, 14 spirituals, Schubert’s The Almighty, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, O Savior Throw the Heavens Wide, a Brahms motet, St Louis Blues and more.

Special Retail Credit Course at Amarillo College
A 10 hour course on retail credit procedures will run April 9 to 13 at Amarillo College Recital Hall. Sponsored by the Amarillo Chamber merchants committee and Amarillo College, Leslie Stephens chairs the merchants committee and A M Meyer is college president. Sterling S. Speaks of the University of Texas will conduct the training, with classes at 7:30 PM daily for two hours.
