Death pact ends lives of two in hotel room
Lawrence W. Hurdle 28 and Arlene Bellamy 17 were found dead at a tourist camp seven miles west of town. Investigators termed it death by own action pact with a .32 caliber Colt between them. Justice of the Peace ruled murder and death by own action. The bodies were placed at Boxwell Brothers awaiting Bellamy parents from Beaumont. Peggy Hurdle, widow and Hurdle's sister, said he had been peculiar recently.

Strenuous Work Blamed for Death in Tulsa
Howard Bennette aged 45, president of the Western Petroleum Refiners Association, died Sunday from a health breakdown linked by friends to his strenuous duties on the national oil planning and coordination committee. His body will be moved from Rochester, Minnesota, to Conroe, Texas, for burial Thursday beside his parents. Mid-continent oil men who saw him as a mediator between independents and majors will travel to Texas for the funeral.

Man Found Dead and Wife Fatally Wounded in Austin Home
Merlin Oates, an insurance department employee, was found dead and his wife mortally wounded in their Austin home. The wife died en route to a hospital. Justice of Peace T E Johnson ruled murder and death by self. Mrs Oates shot her husband several times and then killed herself with a .32 pistol found in her hand. They were partly clothed.
