Fire at Southwestern Exposition destroys poultry and exhibits

A blaze at the Southwestern Exposition and Stock Show in Fort Worth destroyed the Poultry Show Building and the Agricultural Exhibit Building, killing over 2,000 high bred fowls. Firefighter G. F. Wilson was injured. firemen battled dense smoke as flames reached the Coliseum and automobile building. Officials said the show would continue as scheduled.

Prisoner Scores Knockout Over Fellow Trusty

M. M. Rose, a trusty serving a 30 day sentence in Potter County Jail, knocked out a fellow trustee this morning and now faces new assault charges. Rose, due for release today, remains in custody as punishment extends for weeks. The assaulted trustee, holding boxes of washing powder, was briefly unconscious after the punch and remained in bed at 1 PM.

Federals Buy Planes From U S Factory

A fleet of planes destined for the Mexican government forces against rebels is being produced at the Chance Vought Aircraft Factory in Long Island City. The first group will depart for Mexico this week fully armed with machine guns and bomb racks. Navy officials say three Mexican fliers are receiving training in Navy type planes at Anacostia Air Station, a routine courtesy requested by the Mexican government after it bought nine such aircraft.
