Borger Texas marks its third birthday with a civic parade featuring the American Legion Hutchinson county post 412 and the chamber of commerce backing. Three people including two children were wounded seriously by stray bullets from Juarez during a border battle between Federal and rebel forces. Luis Chavez age six was shot in the stomach, Lydia Rodarte age two was critically wounded in the head, and an unidentified man was wounded nearby.

Jim Kittleband argued self defense for his niece Mary Helen Wakefield in a district court murder case. Henry Walker was shot three times outside a Midway barber shop last May after alleged improper advances toward Wakefield. Wakefield and Oran Wakefield testified to the alleged advances Walker made to Mary Helen.
The Midland Daily Telegram and Midland Reporter merge under Midland Publishing Company. T. Paul Barron becomes president and editor, Melvern Taggart secretary treasurer, with C. C. Watson selling his Telegram interests. Wilbur C. Hawk and Gene A. Howe of Amarillo Globe-News group control the venture. The Reporter Telegram will publish daily in the afternoon and Sunday morning from the Telegram plant.
Five men drowned and three were saved when two sedans plunged from the Wishkah bridge near Aberdeen Washington. An automatic gate failed to function and rescue crews from Griggs ambulance aided the survivors.
Borger Texas March 8 Special to The Globe district attorney John A Holmes says if Whitey Walker is not convicted in Colorado for the Lamar bank robbery and deputy killings he will be brought to Borger to stand trial for the April 1 1927 slayings of deputies Almer Terry and Pat Kenyon. Walker was captured in Buffalo New York after a yearlong pursuit following his Hutchinson county courtroom escape in December 1927.
Secretary Kellogg announced immediate replacement of the embargo on shipment of commercial airplanes from the United States to Mexico. The embargo had been lifted a year earlier and is now reinstated.
Brig Gen Van Horn Moseley refused Gen Matias Ramos permission to move Federal troops to the U S side to recapture Juarez. Ramos based at the southern base of the international bridge amid ongoing, desultory firing as battle casualties were reported.
