Youth Worker Dies in Crash in Remote Arroyo Near State Line

Amarillo youth worker William Paul Bradford died after a highway crash near the New Mexico Arizona line. Bradford 19, sustained injuries at about 6 45 pm and died at Lordsburg Hospital in New Mexico at 5 25 am.

Beadford Involved In Amarillo Car Crash Linked To Marine

An Amarillo based Beadford who worked as a junior high teacher and youth director was in a late model coupe that crashed near an arroyo causing injuries to Marine George E. Sellers from Millsboro Delaware. The crash near Lordsburg occurred after the car veered toward a roadside embankment while en route from San Diego to Virginia.

21 Saved From Sea Off North Carolina

The Coast Guard rescued 21 men from the storm-battered motorship Norfolk aground on a sand reef off the North Carolina coast. Rescue attempts endured huge waves and a broken breeches buoy as crews manned lifeboats and towed survivors to shore after 24 hours aboard the sinking vessel.

Grain prices fell on the Chicago Board of Trade as discouraged holders dumped wheat and corn amid thin demand. May wheat dropped about 10 cents and May corn nearly 8 cents as soybeans also slipped below their daily limit, while deferred deliveries showed firmer resistance and government flour offers influenced trading.

Guardian Angel film prompts wallet return at Paramount

At the Paramount Theater a patron lost a wallet with four six dollars. A caller claimed to be the guardian angel and said the wallet would be found there. The wallet was later returned by an unidentified man who turned it over to the theater treasurer, prompting the owner to search for the mysterious guardian angel.
