Bud Nipping Weather Heads For Cold Night

Blooded Livestock Parade Opens Fourteenth Fat Stock Show

Amarillo hosts the fourteenth Fat Stock Show at the Tri-State Fair Grounds with blooded beef hogs sheep and horses on view. Leading sale cattle paraded before hundreds as pig judging and calf sales proceed. 83 calves slated for sale with bids around 133.32 dollars. Over 100 horses arrive for judging with a 7:30 pm hotel banquet for owners and a 2 pm quarter horse judging tomorrow. The event runs through Tuesday with 4-H and Future Farmers of America judging and a Panhandle Hereford Breeders Association banquet.

Governor Kerr Visits Amarillo After Roswell Oil Talks

Oklahoma Governor Robert S. Kerr arrived in Amarillo at 1 30 this morning from Roswell New Mexico where he met with Interstate Oil Compact Commission officials and his son Cadet Bob Kerr Jr. Plans for the New Orleans oil compact session were discussed. Kerr spoke on KGNC about Red Cross efforts and was in town with Mrs Kerr and daughter Kay. The day included livestock judging horse show and livestock exposition with forecasts calling for colder weather tonight and Tuesday.
