Three Amarillo area burglars tied to Dumas heist
Three men arrested in Amarillo last night identified as Simpson, Velebil, and Smith gave addresses on Monroe, East Eleventh and Fillmore. Moore County Sheriff Easley said most loot from Sunday burglary at Gosselin store has been recovered, including $1,169.04 found at their homes and near the Canadian River bridge. The 800-pound safe, damaged and emptied, was located a quarter mile from the bridge, hidden by brush. The suspects signed statements admitting the burglary, after leading officers to caches and confessing to entering the store via the roof to reach the balcony office safe.
