John Bel Belflower a 45 year old Wheeler County farmer was formally charged with murder by County Attorney Fillmore for the shooting of neighbor E Walker who died at a Stycock hospital from a gun wound. Belflower said he acted after Walker refused to apologize and fled to his car before firing. Funeral arrangements for Walker were being made.

In Potter County the arraignment of Will Moore, indicted for murder in the Terminal Hotel slaying of Mont Pete Moore, is postponed for at least three days. Sheriff Bill Thompson noted Moore lacks timely service of a capias and remains jailed outside Potter County awaiting arraignment.
