Right of Way Damage Set for Amarillo Water Line Route
A Randall County jury awarded the Bush Estate and tenant damages totaling $4,522.50 for a water line right of way west of Amarillo crossing the Rock Island freight line. The site, partly in Randall County, could yield $3,982.50 to the Bush interests and $540 to the tenant, with a 60 foot surge tower planned. Police tentatively identify a amnesia victim, about 17 to 19, 135 pounds and 5 foot 10, as Floyd Moore's son from New Mexico. The youth, found near Tyler, wore a blue gray herringbone suit, tan shirt, black oxfords, and a tan trucker cap with green visor. He asked to contact officers around 4 PM Saturday and could not recall details.

Amarillo Calf Auction Sets Record Prices at Show
Rain and cold did not deter Amarillo Fat Stock Show activity at Tri-State Fairgrounds as buyers paid record prices for 21 calf lots at the commercial calf auction. Total sales reached 18,000 dollars for 35,800 pounds, average to 4-H and PRA youths 28.16 per hundred. Brent Carruth of Pampa won top price for his calf, with W H Burden of Panhandle Packing Co. as largest buyer. Breeder and baby beef judging proceeded despite adverse weather. Astor Royal bulls swept top honors with grand championships in the male and female divisions, the latter under show official Bill Roberts. The sale, held by Amarillo Livestock Auction Co., benefited from courtesy by Eddie Johnson and Jay Naylor.
