Potter County Commissioners adopted a resolution to turn the grounds management to the sports men's club. One creek on the farm is stocked with bream and panfish but remains closed until dam repairs are finished. The project aims to open outdoor recreation with picnic areas and fire places for family use.
Riots erupt as Germans queue for currency exchange under the Soviet block. The ADN news agency blames Western city sectors for the clashes. Burial Saturday in Tipton County Tenn born July 13 1869 married Lorena Owens January 1895 Baptist member. Surviving widow six sons two daughters 20 grandchildren five great grandchildren.
Albert J. Seymour of Canyon dies at 48 after injuries from a brace collapse. Funeral services set for Tuesday at 2 PM at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. W. E. Rogers officiating. Burial in Liano Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, three sons, six daughters, five brothers and a sister.
Dr Robert C Roney son of Roney of 1612 Pierce left Monday for Indianapolis to begin a year long internship in oral surgery at General Hospital. He recently completed graduate work at Northwestern University School of Dentistry Chicago and earned a master of science in dentistry two weeks ago. He has been visiting relatives here since graduation. Mrs Roney and daughter will remain in Amarillo.

Waddy Week features a $1,000 price tag on a purple shirt while Amarillo hosts a reunion for Army Field personnel Thursday through Saturday. Bill Lansing notes reservations from 40 people across New Jersey and California. Line Avenue Baptist plans Waddy Week with Rev. Sisemore inviting all to wear Waddy clothes to church and preach on when It’s Round-up Time in Glory. Activities include rodeo, dance at the Sports Arena, and a charity chuck wagon. Rodeo shows run Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday and Monday at 2:30 pm with tickets at 1.65 for adults, 0.60 for children, and 2.50 for box seats.
Joe Farra, 17, of 408 Georgia, was treated at St. Anthony's Hospital Sunday afternoon for a shoulder injury from an accident at the Motorcycle Speedway just before 2 PM. He was released and did not return for further treatment Monday morning.

In Petersburg area farms reported 7 to 8 inch rainfall estimates with strong lightning. Floydada gauge showed 33 inches as power outages hit Plainview and surrounding towns for about 20 minutes. Crop damage runs into thousands as wheat and cotton fields wash out near Petersburg and Abnerathy.
Amarillo Toastmasters will meet Tuesday evening at 7 in the back yard of I L Peffley 3407 Van Buren Street. The club will hold a wiener roast and Mr Peffley is president of the club.
Amarillo Chamber of Commerce officials announced goodwill caravans will visit two Panhandle cities during next month celebrations. A motorcade will tour Tula on July 16 or 17 during a Swish celebration, and a coach will take visitors to the XIT Reunion in Dalhart on July 30.
