Russia Joins In Trial Plans For Nazi War Criminals

A British Foreign Office spokesman said Russia will send two representatives to London for a conference with the United States Britain and France to set procedures and a date for trials of Nazi leaders including Hermann Goering Joachim von Ribbentrop Rudolf Hess and 100 others. Robert H Jackson will represent the United States and push for simultaneous trials before summer end with Britain backing the plan.

Woman Held in Shooting Near New Canaan

Mrs. Imogene Stevens 24, wife of an Army major, was jailed in default of 50000 bail on a manslaughter charge after a fatal shooting of Albert Kovacs 19 a sailor. She claimed self defense saying the gun given by her husband was used after intruders confronted her in a neighbor's house.

German Communist Party Reorganized in Berlin

A Moscow broadcast reports the Communist Party of Germany has been reorganized in Berlin after 12 years underground struggle and is now officially registered with Soviet military authorities. The party has published a newspaper and issued a proclamation seeking a democratic anti fascist regime with a democratic parliament and support for free trade and private enterprise.
