Jersey City Mayor Hague Arrested for Contempt
Jersey City Mayor Frank Hague, vice chairman of the National Democratic committee, was arrested in Trenton for contempt of the New Jersey legislature after refusing to answer questions about his private wealth. A habeas corpus writ was granted after his arrest, with a hearing set in Mercer county jail.

Prison break leader faces death trial in Texas

Plane in Iowa Crash Kills Pilot Paul Ritter
Paul Ritter, 27, failed to recover from a tailspin and his aircraft crashed on a highway near Creston Iowa. The wreckage caught fire and Ritter perished before rescuers could remove the body.
