Radio advices reported at 5 am that Lieutenant Lundborgs airplane was badly damaged during its second landing at the Spitzenbergen camp of General Spitzenberg. The incident occurred in Virgo Bay on June 25.
General Umberto Nobile recalls a morning landing near his tent at Virgo Bay Spitsbergen as Lieutenant Lundborg urged him to leave first for safety. Nobile yielded to orders to not risk delay and passed leadership to Viglieri while Ceccione remained well aboard. He hopes to reunite with the others and to see them again.

Mrs. J. O. Hill of 727 Arthur Street Amarillo reports a Texas bluebonnet in bloom in her garden. The plant came from seeds sent by her daughter in Fort Worth and she invites visitors to view the native flower. The bloom is smaller than downstate varieties.
Gooding Idaho reports the death of Senator Frank I Gooding twice elected from Idaho He died at his daughter s home in the town he founded and bears his name The cause listed as cancer of the thymus and influenza illness last December He previously served as governor during Haywood era and later returned to farming before winning the Senate race in 1920 with Nugent s backing
United Press dispatch reports J. P. O'Brien, a Nevada delegate, died on a Pacific train en route to the Houston convention. Mr and Mrs James L Quicksall of 104 Belleview Avenue returned from a two weeks trip to Shriner Texas to visit Mrs Quicksall's parents.
Houston dispatch notes the Democratic National Convention scenes, committees announced, noon convening, a 7 p.m. recess CST, and Claude G. Bowers to deliver the keynote as temporary chairman.
