Mrs. Willie Ann Vance 79 wife of J C Vance of 1407 Washington Street Amarillo died at 9 25 this morning at St Anthony's Hospital after a brief illness She was born in Trinity County November 7 1862 and married March 18 1880 in McKinney The Vances moved to Amarillo in 1922 from the Liberty community She leaves ten children four daughters and six sons with a husband and was a member of Ellwood Presbyterian Church The body is at Boxwell Brothers Chapel

A telegram from Baxter in Washington cites a deadlock over USO quarters at the old post office for soldiers and war workers, while builders seek quota details for 175 immediate houses.
