About 300 delegates and 200 more are en route as the Texas VFW opened a three day session in Amarillo Municipal Auditorium. Col. E O Thompson welcomed the veterans describing the VFW as an organization for men who have seen service abroad and apologized for a Globe-News article on military training. Webner, state commander, led the meeting into secret session with the Ladies Auxiliary holding initial business this morning.

Scott Dies in Hospital Here
William Scott, 20, longtime Amarillo resident, died at St. Anthony's hospital after a short illness. He had been moved from the Auditorium Hotel where convulsions were observed and a bottle of bichloride of mercury tablets was found.
