Social Center Girls Learn First Aid Course

Under direction of Miss Gene Dunnett a first aid class formed at the Social Center for teen girls. Sixteen girls enrolled with sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays. A second class for older girls will be organized Friday at 5 o clock. The course covers personal hygiene and first aid over several weeks.

Austin Chronicle reports Governor James V. Allred indicated another special legislative session is likely late summer or early fall. He urged reporters to vacation in July, noting funding challenges for old age pensions and the ongoing session after a May 22 end and May 27 start.

Senate approves transfer of Hall of State to Texas Board

Derrick collapse claims three oil crew members in Okemah

Three men died when an oil well derrick collapsed during tubing removal near Okemah. The victims were Carl Clintworth 37 of Seminole part owner of the well George Dennison 34 of Seminole and J W Franklin 38 of Ada crew members.

FDR Proposes Plan to Boost Purchasing Power in 129 Million
