Builders seek lower city building costs for small Amarillo homes
A group of home builders in Amarillo asked the city building code appeals board to amend the code to align minimum local standards with FHA limits for houses under 800 square feet. The move aims to cut costs for veterans and low income buyers by easing foundations wall spacing and other small items. The board will review and report to the city commission for action.
