Youth Pleads In Traffic Stop Misses Sign

A 25 year old Houston man told Traffic Court Judge Lawrence DuMars he failed to see a stop sign because he was visiting his girlfriend and had to drive home without his glasses. He entered a not guilty plea and the judge advised carrying an extra pair of glasses.

Huddleston Loses Suit Against City

The Texas Supreme Court ruled against M. I. Huddleston in his damages suit against the City of Amarillo over injuries from a grader accident while employed by the city. The court reversed the Amarillo Court of Civil Appeals and upheld Judge W. E. Gee’s district court judgment denying recovery.

Scroggins Funeral Services Tomorrow

Funeral services for Mrs Sofia Scroggins widow of D M Scroggins will be held tomorrow at 4 PM from N B Griggs and Sons Chapel with D L Shelton and Luther G Roberts officiating. She died yesterday at 5 30 PM at her son Joe Scroggins home aged 81. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Survivors include six sons and one daughter.

Panhandle Farmer Ernest Werner Dies at 60 in Panhandle

Ernest Werner 60, a Panhandle area farmer since 1917, died at 10:45 AM at Panhandle hospital. Surviving brothers Henry Werner, his farming partner, and Albert Werner of Hereford. Body in state at Blackburn-Shaw Chapel awaiting funeral plans.
