Taxpayer Delinquent Bills Prompts June Payment Plan
Texas delays in tax remissions fuel debate over penalties and interest. An A G Kennedy opinion says no remission after June 30 1935, with 5 percent penalty for current delinquencies. Example a $100 bill owed since 1930 would total $105 before June 30 but $138 after July 1 including 6 percent yearly interest and a $1 annual cost. Leaders at Potter County warn of policy shifts and penalties. A Pontiac dealer meeting in Panhandle district is announced at Herring Hotel with speakers from Oklahoma City. Higher education grants will send two Potter County teachers to Nashville and Canyon. The Hayes Music Society plans spring concert at Second Avenue and Jackson Street Colored Methodist Church. Laddie the rescued child continues treatment progress.
