Robert Norton Hill age 60 mailed a special delivery summons to police then killed his 20 year old crippled son and beat his crippled wife before slashing wrists and killing himself. His body lay in the cellar with a hammer and pistol found nearby. No motive given. The Coffee Shop at Amarilla Hotel is famous for food.
The Associated Press reports a series of storms Thursday evening across southeastern Taylor County Texas destroying thousands of acres of cotton grain and feed and damaging farm properties. Telephones lines oil derricks barns and several structures were blown down as rain wind and hail hammered the region. Rain totals varied from nearly a half inch in Abilene to six inches at Lawn and 1.25 inches at Clyde.

Amarillo's super-b boosters will leave Monday night at 9 o'clock for Tulsa to attend the national convention of realtors. The boosters travel in a special train and will spend Tuesday morning in Oklahoma City. The Legion drum and bugle corps will entertain the residents in Tulsa, Tom Bruner, chairman of the committee, said today that the train had been ordered and the boosters were ready to invade Tulsa.
A man named Horace killed his two children Leis and Joke aged six and six with car exhaust poison and then died by suicide at Hillworth. The mother had left him years earlier. Police and coroner concluded the deaths were due to homicide and suicide after examining the car and exhaust setup.
A petition from 75 voters in Lampasas Texas calls for Lynch Davidson to withdraw from the governor’s race to help Dan Moody win. Signers include Mayor W D Francis and other Sampson area business and professional leaders who say the move would end Ferguson rule.
Mayor Bivins urged public cooperation in a city clean-up drive ahead of a West Texas chamber of commerce convention. He said the city has equipment to haul trash but property owners must place debris in alleys for easy wagon access. He stressed weeds on vacant lots must be cut immediately to protect public health.
Tom Davis 52 is in critical condition after jumping from a hand car as a freight struck near Cliffside on the Fort Worth and Denver line. His foot was caught in the cow catcher and dragged several feet before the engine stopped. He was brought to Amarillo by freight and a full statement from the railroad was unavailable.

Four persons perished when a fire swept a rooming house in Hamlet North Carolina early today. Victims include B. B. Baker, the house manager, and three men not identified.
A coal miner from Balemville named Michael Deretsky, aged two years, died after his father shot himl when a girl was born instead of a boy. The father then killed himself eight hours later.
In district court the case of Frank Crutchfield charged with bank robbery at White Deer in March 1925 is set to begin Monday morning. Crutchfield, now in county jail, previously faced a hung jury. the indictment alleges he held a shotgun to a bank employee and seized about $1,650 before fleeing to a basement where a posse later found him, with a special venue of 109 drawn for jury selection.
R G Barnum announced committee selections for a major oil industry banquet to be held in Amarillo. Invitations sent include J D Callett and W S Parrish among others with speakers to include Amon G Carter and W Teagle. The five committees cover invitation banquet publicity finance and entertainment.
