Park and golf course work is well under way
Two Amarillo development projects advance rapidly. The Amarillo Athletic park at Twelfth and Roberts is shaping into a functional field with foundation concrete poured and stands and fencing to start. Officials expect park play June 20 and formal opening June 21 during the West Texas chamber of commerce gathering. Twin Hills golf course near the North highway is nearly ready, with one green completed and eight more underway. The public course will charge greens or membership fees, and while not municipal, serves town residents.
