New Orleans July 31 Lt E P Adams of the procurement division says Jack Wrather an apprentice seaman in midshipman training was honorably discharged after notifying the navy of his plan to marry Molly O Daniel daughter of the Texas governor. Wrather could have married without discharge but would have been discharged afterward.
Police in Amarillo will begin issuing traffic tickets under a quadruple system tomorrow morning. Each officer will receive two books of numbered tickets from the record clerk and must present a receipt when issued and returned. The Amarillo recruit station opened July 18 and has seen 14 applicants. Eleven have been enlisted in Dallas, others await enlistment there. Several joined specialized branches including clerical, aviation, ensign training, and boatswain second class. Rex Daniels and Cleo Ray Ussery are among the latest recruits.
