Wheeler Accepts Stimson Apology

Senator Burton Wheeler of Montana accepted Secretary of War Henry Stimson's apology for accusing non-interventionists of circulating postcards to soldiers opposing the war. Brownwood Sees Army Camp as Beneficial to City

Gene Mattox Brownwood Chamber of Commerce manager says Camp Bowie and VIII Army Corps Headquarters brought a $2 million monthly payroll plus supply spending. Canadian Army Guards Major Aluminum Plant Sabotage Claim

The Canadian Army protected the Aluminum Company of Canada plant near Arvida Quebec valued at 150 million dollars using tanks and barbed wire. Munitions minister C. D. Howe said a plant pot room was seized after a fist fight and four weeks of production were lost. Officials of the National Catholic Syndicate of Aluminum Workers denied the saboteur motive.
