Clifford Mabrey a Zales watch repairman said three men robbed him in the 800 block of Harrison taking about 50 dollars and his brown gabardine coat. He chased them a block toward Van Buren as officers detained a suspect at 2 am but Mabrey could not identify him.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash At North Fillmore In Amarillo
A motorcyclist died after his bike crashed into the Neill Singleton building at 514 North Fillmore. He had been testing the bike at Adkins Service Station, Sixth and North Fillmore, where he worked. Witnesses say the bike bucked as the starter was kicked, veered across the street, and struck the building. He was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital with head back arm and leg injuries and possible internal injuries. He died from severe blood loss due to glass lacerations. He had been married a year to Nelda Sandlin. He attended Horace Mann and Amarillo High Schools. Funeral plans are pending with Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
