Potter County delegates endorsed voting as a unit for Democratic nominees at the state convention. A 1941 coupe carrying four youths veered 19 miles northwest of Dalhart late Saturday. Monroe Garrison, 14, of Mansker died en route to a Dalhart hospital. Curtis Williams, 19, was in serious condition with head and back injuries. William Burhenn Jr., 16, driver, and Bill Froman, 18, escaped injury. Roy Kennedy reported the car rolled about 100 yards before striking a tree. Surviving Garrison include his mother and two brothers along with a sister.

English Field logged .44 inches by midnight while downtown Amarillo saw a heavier fall. Rain disrupted the XIT Reunion in Dalhart forcing the rodeo to end early. Rail dispatchers reported heavy rain between Texic ana and Amarillo, with Pampa and Hereford each around half an inch. White Deer recorded heavy rain. Canyon milder. Bovina threatened midnight rain wishes. No reports yet from the south and east. Thunder and lightning accompanied the downpour.
