The Danish Red Cross will examine about forty million children and youths in European countries for tuberculosis over the next two years. Funding comes from the United Nations children salvage fund totaling $2,000,000, Denmark’s government $400,000, and a nationwide Danish collection aiming for $1,000,000 to $1,250,000.

Peru vian International Airways completed a large shipment to Latin America. Chicks were for resale, finches and doves for collectors and zoos, rabbits arrived in Lima about 24 hours after leaving New York.
Hamburg police report theft of 16 leather covered oak chairs from Lübeck city hall after council sessions. Leather coverings were ripped off and slippers bearing Lübeck origin were found on the Hamburg black market, with no suspects yet identified.
A joint meeting of the highway and tourist development committees of the chamber of commerce will be held Thursday at 11 o'clock in the chamber offices. The meeting was called by chamber president Gene Klein. Important matters affecting both committees will be discussed.
