HOLC 70 Repair Loans Open to Homeowners
Lawrence Kerr of Amarillo has been named head of the reconditioning department at the Amarillo branch of the Home Owners Loan Corporation and will serve as assistant district supervisor. Loans for reconditioning, remodeling and modernizing homes are now being accepted, with Congress having approved the program. Eligibility extends to current borrowers, those eligible to have mortgages taken over, and owners with clear titles who cannot obtain private financing. Maximum loan is 80 percent of appraised value for 15 years, equating to 7.914 dollars per month per thousand.
