FBI Agent Charles Winstead said his car and horse were stolen in Albuquerque on July 24. He walked to a bus stop for two days, then the horse returned home. Officers later found his car license plate in Texas. He jokes about chasing the bus until the car is found.
A Panhandle oil venture, Old Tack No 3 by Stanolind near Amarillo, is announced by Dave Henderson and Charley Shock. Location 660 feet from east line and 660 feet north of the railroad in Carson County Section 9, Block Two, A B M survey. Forecasted to reach 7,500 feet, with town boosters optimistic about major production and local land sales.

In Coffeyville Kansas on July 24 motorist H V Alloway drove to a repair shop to check brakes. They needed fixing and his car crashed through the shop’s plate glass window before he could stop. Brake repairs cost five dollars and the window cost ten nine.
Washington July 24 Price Administrator Leon Henderson ordered laundries to keep March low prices or face action as violators of price regulations. New York July 24 Colonel Eugene Nelson of the U S Army Reserve, named in a federal grand jury indictment for conspiring to undermine morale, has been arrested and awaits removal to Washington. Taranto, Italy relies on oyster farming as its main industry.
About 50 Amarillo Presbyterian youths left for a five day annual conference at Cela Glen near Happy. An equal number of younger Presbyterians returned to Amarillo this afternoon, clearing the camp for the older group. The Panhandle group will join the Amarilloans at the camp. Rev. Harry Sarles of Port Arthur will direct the camp.
Willborn Brothers Company submitted plans to the city building inspector for a new tank shop in Amarillo area at an estimated cost of 25000 dollars. The project signals a local boost amid material freezes as the area anticipates growth. Fire department projections expect a population above 500000 by 1944.
The joint war production committee of the United States and Canada reports that the annual rate of munitions output in the U S has risen almost fourfold since 1941. Canadian production is up nearly threefold, with further sharp increases expected. Sweden begins clothing rationing.

McMahan, El mer A. Simpson, Paul E. Jones, Robert A. Keeton and others. Canon Hood, returning from Iceland, caught a cold upon arriving in Kieghley, England.
