Pope Pius will wait for Bishop Gallagher of Detroit to report before any action. Gallagher, Coughlin’s ecclesiastical superior, is en route to the Vatican.

Col. Ernest O. Thompson, chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, returns home for a Panhandle rally tonight at Amarillo Municipal Auditorium to close his campaign. Eight miles southeast of town on the Woods farm, H Woods suffered serious burns while handling highlife in a granary. He rushed water on flames after an initial blast, reigniting the fire and burning wheat. Mrs Keeter assisted, and M Thompson from Oliver Farm Equipment Sales helped extinguish remaining flames and transport Woods to St Anthony Hospital.
Col. Charles A. Lindbergh warned Nazi aviation officials at a luncheon that their work creates deadly new weapons and demands a new security of intelligence over force. He said aviation has abolished defensive warfare and urged responsibility to prevent destroying what must be protected.
